Board Members


William Chan

Chairman & Co-Founder


William Chan is a Co-Founder and serves as Chairman. He graduated from Norman Thomas High School in 2001, John Jay College in 2007 (B.S., Legal Studies), and Baruch College in 2013 (M.S., Accounting). William worked at Siegel & Siegel as a Trusts & Estates Paralegal, a NYC law firm and then became the Research Analyst at Bachelder, a senior executive compensation firm. Afterwards, he became a self-employed Portfolio Manager overseeing an equity and options portfolio in addition to a portfolio of small businesses. Also, he interned during his graduate education as an Equity Research Analyst at a NYC equity hedge fund named Investment Strategies Fund. Prior to founding the Altruists, William volunteered as a prospect researcher at the Children’s Museum of the Arts and now serves with New York Cares.

Esteban Gomez

Vice Chairman


 

Esteban Gomez serves as Vice Chairman. He graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School in 2001, received a BBA in Accounting from Baruch College of the City University of New York in 2006, and graduated with a MBA from NYU Stern School of Business in 2013. Esteban began his career at Ramius, LLC, a New York based asset manager and became a Controller/Research Associate at Newbrook Capital, a global equity hedge fund in New York City. Currently, he is an Equity Research Associate in J.P. Morgan’s Broadlines Retailing, Apparel/Footwear & Specialty Equity Research team. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and a New York State licensed Certified Public Accountant. Esteban has contributed to several non-profit organizations throughout his career including numerous volunteer roles at Asphalt Green, a sports and fitness facility in Manhattan. He served as a mentor with the New York based non-profit organization, iMentor.

Elbagina Bonilla

Co-Founder & Co-CEO


 

Elbagina Bonilla is the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of The Altruists Corporation. Elbagina graduated from Norman Thomas High School in 2001 and received her Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Dowling College in 2005. Upon earning her degree, Elbagina was sought to work for various nonprofits in the city, including Thurgood Marshall College Fund and Northern Manhattan Coalition for Economic Development, Inc. The years working in these organizations gave her purpose for giving back to the community. Wanting to do more for her community, Elbagina returned to school and obtained a Master’s Degree in Public Management from the school of Public Affairs at Baruch College in 2009. Elbagina’s passion for helping young adults led her to work at Hostos Community College in April 2012, all the while continuing to grow The Altruists movement. She has since worked in the Community Relations department, Grants Office and Continuing Education for Workforce Development division. Elbagina is now the Strategic Planning and Assessment Specialist for the Division of Student Development and Enrollment Management at Hostos.

Angeline Gomez

Co-Founder & Co-CEO


 

Angeline Gomez is the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of The Altruists Corporation. She currently works in the fashion industry as a Production Coordinator at DMF Steve Madden Corporation for their handbag division. The fashion industry was something Angeline stumbled upon and although appreciative of her experience; her real passion lies in non-profit work. Angeline graduated from Norman Thomas High School in 2001 and received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from The City College of New York, CUNY, in 2007. Previous to her career in the fashion industry, Angeline started her professional life working as the Marketing and Training Coordinator for the New York Women’s Chamber of Commerce (NYWCC), where her passion for helping the community grew.

During her stay at the NYWCC, she continued her education and received her Masters in Public Administration, with a focus on Public Management from Bernard M. Baruch College and graduated in 2012. With her non-profit work experience, and her current position in the fashion industry, Angeline hopes to affect her community positively by creating a ripple effect of volunteerism, professionalism, activism and an altruistic attitude within our community.

Pablo Rodriguez

Branding Consultant


 

Pablo Rodriguez is in charge of all the branding and web development as well as consults on matters of advertising and marketing for The Altruists Corporation. He graduated from the City College of New York with a BFA in Multimedia Design and has masters in Design and Architecture from the Universitat de Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. Pablo started his career as an in-house graphic designer for the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute, a non-profit dedicated to the research of the Dominican diaspora. He now owns his own branding consultancy firm and a full-service design agency.
